The Importance of Daily Devotionals for  Spirit-Filled Entrepreneurs                               John W Rhodes

Introduction:

As an entrepreneur, it’s essential to stay grounded and focused amidst the hustle and bustle of the business world. However, finding time for spirituality, especially amidst business responsibilities, can be challenging. This is where daily devotionals come in, and why they’re crucial to spirit-filled entrepreneurs. In this article, we’ll be exploring what devotionals are, why they’re essential, and how they can benefit your personal and business life.

1. What are Daily Devotionals?

Daily devotionals are short readings or meditations that aim to enrich your spiritual life. They can be in the form of Bible verses, prayers, quotes, or reflections. Daily devotionals help to focus our hearts, minds, and souls towards God, or a particular religious belief, which helps us to stay grounded, motivated and inspired throughout the day.

2. The Importance of Daily Devotionals for Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurship can be a challenging and isolating journey, one that demands heavy responsibilities, requires a competitive nature, and often comes with failures and setbacks. That’s why daily devotionals are vital for entrepreneurs. Studies show that people who commit to a spiritual practice like daily devotionals experience lower levels of stress, increased energy, and an overall sense of calm that helps them make better decisions. Having a regular spiritual practice can also help you stay connected to your faith, which can provide inspiration for your business goals.

3. How Daily Devotionals can Benefit your Business Life

Daily devotionals can benefit your business life by allowing you to focus on the bigger picture, align your thoughts to your deeper values and find purpose in your work. As an entrepreneur, it’s easy to get bogged down in the details of your business or the pursuit of success, but daily devotionals remind us of the importance of faith, service, and our greater responsibilities beyond just making a profit. These values can guide us in making socially responsible business decisions, develop relationships with clients, employees, and community, all contributing to the development of a thriving business.

4. The Different Types of Daily Devotionals for Spirit-Filled Entrepreneurs

There are different types of devotionals that suit different people depending on their religious beliefs, preferences, or style. Some devotionals are specifically designed for entrepreneurs, while others are general or centered around specific topics. You can opt for traditional devotionals like the Our Daily Bread, She Reads Truth, or you can try other forms like podcasts, books, or daily affirmations. The key is to find a devotional that speaks to your heart and aligns with your spiritual goals.

5. How to Incorporate Daily Devotionals into Your Busy Schedule

Finding time for daily devotionals is a challenge for most entrepreneurs, but it’s not impossible. First, set aside a specific time each day for your devotional, which can be before work, during a break or end of the day. Secondly, be consistent with your devotionals, schedule it into your to-do list or calendar. Lastly, establish an accountability system, share your spiritual journey with a mentor, friend or support group.

Conclusion:

Daily devotionals are an integral part of a spirit-filled entrepreneur’s life. They provide essential spiritual nourishment that contributes to mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing, which ultimately leads to better decision making, personal and business growth. The type of devotional you choose should align with your spiritual goals and preferences, and should be consistent and integrated into your daily routine. With consistent commitment, you can cultivate a thriving business and spirit-filled lifestyle that empowers you to live a purposeful and fulfilling life.

IFOCUS4LIFE MASTERY Keys & Principle

Reading Rainbow Tip: Read each section, answer the questions & apply to principles that are relevant to your life now.

“The Lord is my Shepard; I shall not want” – Psalms 23:1

As a true Worshiper it is imperative that we see God as Jehovah-Rohi, the Lord Thy Shepard.  It is at this point that we can then truly see Him leading and guiding us through every trial, test, temptation, affliction, and or persecution. But, we shall be able to see Him guiding us to every blessing that also rightly belongs to us as well.

“The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.” Proverb 10:22

Not only does God lead us through the tough times I see him as leading us into our blessings even in the midst of darkness.    While we are going through it doesn’t appear like it, but it’s true God is there every step of the way, without fail.  It’s true when He says, “He will never leave us nor fail us.”

FOCUS KEY#1 – I shall not want IF4LM Motto Text:

I – I Shall Not Want – Psalms 23:1

The principle here to keep in mind is that I shall not want for anything.  I must be convinced that, “there is nothing more important than God.”  With that in mind I know as long as I strive to follow the leading to the Lord by the Holy Spirit, God will make sure that I am well taken care of and all my needs are provided.

Want vs. Need

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philipians 4:19.  We are reminded here that God shall provide us with all we need and so much more, and that the needs God will give us are measured according to what is provided in relation to His riches in glory.  Four factors are to be grasped here:

  • God will supply our needs
  • All our needs will be supplied, not just some of them
  • Those needs supplied will be measured according to what his riches are in glory
  • Thy will be given by the Chief Shepard Christ Jesus

These four principles wrapped up in one scripture should give us the confidence that when the Master says He Shall Supply All Our Needs, He really means it. Not only does He mean it, but he will give us His very best.

Which leads to the next point, if we truly believe that God will gives us His very best, then why are we at times unsatisfied with where we are in life or frustrated with the way things are going in our life?

Want vs. Content

I believe that the two words Want & Content can be at odds with each other if we allow them to, even enemies.  This word want means, to desire greatly, to be deficient in: lack. To seek with intent to capture.  (Webster’s).  So, you may ask is it bad to desire better things in life. I say, absolutely not.  We should want to become better, but not at the expense of our peace, health, strength and joy.

  • Our true joy comes only through the mindfulness that is of the Lord’s doing and by praising Him for it all

4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Phil.4:4

Regardless, of the situation I thank Him. I recall when we were going through the PANDEMIC of COVID-19,  there we so many uncertainties, however, there was one thing that stood on many levels and consented by the many theologians of our time and that is, God is in Control regardless of what happens, or happened during that time period of the year 2020, 2021 and beyond.

Millions if lives were lost and our world was turned literally upside-down, but we still needed to trust in the Lord, who is our Shepherd.

  • Our life should move in moderation and most of all by the leading of the holy spirit.
  • We should be known be our moderation and steadfastness.

5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. v.5

One lessons in life that I learned from music production is the experienced of waiting on the Lord to help me see the completion of Recording a CD / 💿 Albums – GOD’S CALL: the Process Part One & THE HAND OF GOD: Songs of Deliverance by John W Rhodes KOHA and Friends.which was part two, which was completed almost ten years after the first one.  to all the way through completion on a shoe string budget, but yet producing it with quality, excellence and the professional assistance needed to give God glory. To this day these CD’s continue to be a blessing to countless of lives while still be me financially rather great or small, “the blessings of the Lord maketh me rich and added no sorrow with it.”

I trusted God during those recordings by one depending on a Network Marketing Company I was in to bring me extra funds to record and complete CD Recording, while God connecting me with a young man by the name of Chad Higgins who was excellent at the craft of recording and producing a CD.

The almost ten years later I recorded a CD called THE HAND OF GOD: SONGS OF DELIVERANCE, in which some of the funds needed was gathered by cutting my neighbors grass each week to pay for progression of the recording. I saw God provide in many ways as I also saw my hearts desire fulfilled in completing thisnCD while simultaneously starting a new church plant Kingdom of Heaven Assembly, a Full Gospel Fellowship, and serving a the Senior Pastor I which at the time of the writing I am still Pastoring this church, known as THE KOHA CENTER today, located in downtown Lexington, Ky. forgive this shameless plug 🔌🙏y’all.

  • We are not to be so careful, that we walk in doubt or fear and do nothing.

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.  Philipians 4:6-8

Think on These Things

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

A definition of “moderation” from E.W. Bullinger,  in his‘A Critical Lexicon and Concordance to the English and Greek New Testament (Fifth Edition, Revised, 1908., p. 317). London: Longmans, Green, & Co. – reads ἐπιεικής,  fitting upon, i.e. fit, meet, suitable; hence, fair, reasonable, esp. opp. to δίκαιος (righteous), i.e., not insisting on the letter of the law, considerate, forbearing, kind, fair, (occ. Phil. 4:5; 1 Tim. 3:3.)

  •  Therefore, to seek the leading of the Holy Spirit is imperative to be a consistent continuation of our peace, which is how everlasting content is experienced.

11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

The state that we are in should be to content regardless of what’s going on but to build from there. In other words, I may have an absence of money to pay the rent, but I am content that God shall supply the money, resources to meet my needs, and to get my rent paid.  Trusting God is an act of worship.

12  I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

In the this previous scripture I believe this is where we learn when to speak and when to be silent, and to assess when there is a lack in any area of the lives if others but also in our owns lives. Nevertheless, we are to work on fulfilling those needs as the Good Shepherd our Lord Jesus guides us, by the Holy Spirit 🙏.

I can recall many if times I had to speak up in many situations rather it was in my home with my spouse, at work concerning matters that needed to be adjusted, to countess of times in the ministry, rather the decisions seemed unfavorable or not, being abased and abound had to play a part if I wanted progress. Being complacent and saying or doing nothing would only cause frustration, anxiety and of course which none of us needed.

13  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Belief in oneself has to be a solid foundation in making continuous progress in life. But, foremost believing that we can do things greatly.is a benefit and an ultimate blessing to impacting the Kingdom.  I have seen God work in many ways years after I have completed a work, such as writing ✍the first book to this series, IFOCUS4LIFE MASTERY, particularly on Module One: Fearless and Driven with Purpose. Specifically, the most rewarding experience I have had is my very own daughter Marla, sharing with me her efforts to reading 📚my book when she need some words of inspiration, often times she would mention it, but this most resent time it really hit home the impact that I would have on my children from the Creation of literary works particularly when she was about to have her second child. It was then I realized the fulness of the scripture that says, a good man leaves and inheritance for his children’s children. Long after I am gone, I can be confident that my children will pass on the lessons I have learned that are captured in these books, by sharing my books and having them to read them, at least once. 😌This is not by no means a state of arrogance, but the realization of sharing a piece of me and my heart. To some of my children or grandchildren it may not deed valuable til long after I am gone, then again, some may never fine the need, needless to say, where they were possibly lacking, the solutions rest in what the Lord gave me share with the world and not only for my own personal benefit and family👪.  Again, to reiterate “the Lord is my Shepherd, I Shall Not Want”, for anything.

Proverb 13:22 A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

14  Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.

Not suffering want does not mean you will never experience, test, trials, afflictions or persecution from others, but to we are reassured to know that God will take care of our every need.

15  Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

16  For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.

17  Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account
